To mark the occasion of World Children’s Day on 20 November, Baobabooks is encouraging children everywhere to engage and write their story. Every child has a unique story to tell – whether it’s an exciting adventure you have imagined, a magical tale about your favourite pet, or a story about your daily life that could make someone smile.
On World Children’s Day we are inviting you to become part of our global community of young authors on Baobabooks.
Visit our website www.baobabooks.com to learn more and write your story. Think about it:
- Maybe your story will help another child feel less alone
- Your creative ideas might inspire someone to write their own story
- Your unique perspective could teach others about your culture or experiences
- Your imagination could make someone laugh or smile when they need it most.
“Remember, there is no story too big or too small. Every story you share adds something special to our global library of children’s voices”, commented Soukeina Mamodhoussen Co-founder and Head of Education and Learning at Baobabooks. “Whether you are writing your first story or your hundredth, we can’t wait to read what you create!”
World Children’s Day was first established by the United Nations in 1954 as Universal Children’s Day and is celebrated on 20 November each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improve children’s welfare. 20 November is important as it is the date in 1959 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the date in 1989 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
